Maurice G. Richards

It is with great sadness that the family of Maurice G. Richards announce his passing on Monday December 29, 2025, at Lincourt Manor St. Stephen, NB.

He was born in Halifax, NS in 1932 to Maurice and Melvina Richards.

Maurice lost both of his parents at a very young age.  He and his brothers were then sent to a foster family.

He had worked at the young age of 12 years old, with many different occupations from; mining underground, fishing, cab driver and finally transportation with CP Hotels.

Maurice had a smile that was infectious.  His family was his biggest priority.  He followed both sons while transporting their sports teams to every event.

Maurice is survived by his loving wife; Linda, sons; Jeff and Jamie (Kathleen), granddaughter; Anna, his special friend; Cheryl Dow, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers; Leo, Gerald and Ernie.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church 407 Milltown Blvd. St. Stephen, NB on Friday January 2, 2026, at 2:30 pm.  Family will receive friends at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd  23 Main Street St Stephen, NB on Friday January 2, 2026, from 12 noon to 2 pm.

Interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations in Maurice’s memory may be made to Lincourt Manor, Charlotte County SPCA and Canadian Diabetes Association.  The family invites everyone to share memories and condolences that can be shared with the family to bring comfort and joy online at mehanfuneralhome.ca
