Marvin J. Anderson, age 81, of McAdam, NB, passed from this life onto his heavenly one on January 29th, 2026 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, in Fredericton, NB.
Marvin grew up in the small town of McAdam, NB, the youngest son of a very close-knit family. He was married to the love of his life, Shirley, in 1966.
He started working at a young age, holding many different jobs over the years: delivering milk, taxi driver and hauling logs at Georgia Pacific to name a few. He then moved on to start his own trucking business, M.A.S.H Transport. After several years as an entrepreneur, before hanging the keys for good, he finished his career driving for SWP.
Marvin was a family man. He loved to chat and visit, a friend to all and Papa to many. He and Shirley always had a van load of family they were taking to one place or another, countless family vacations to PEI and Ontario. His kindness and love for others were his guide through life. He was the perfect example of the basic human kindness we should all have for one another.
He was blessed with two daughters, Heidi and Angela. To Marvin, his girls were his world. He was the most doting Papa to not only his daughters but his five granddaughters too. And his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews would agree.
Survived by his loving wife, Shirley, daughters Heidi Anderson, Angela (Justin) Anderson, granddaughters; Chloe, Emma, Addisyn, Bella and Molly, sister Verna Arsenault, sisters in-law, Harriett Garrett, Karen (Ross) Stairs, Cathy (Perry) Farrell, Mary (Rob) Carmichael, Darlene (Terry) Sullivan, brother in-law, Joe (Helen) Godbout, very special nieces and nephews, Roger (Deborah) Vail, Lisa (Mark) Townes-Frazer, Donnie (Joanne) Raye, Joy (Charlie) Leech, Cindy (Tom) Pickering, Jeanne Anderson, Jason Anderson.
He was predeceased by his parents; Earl and Melva Anderson, brothers, Thomas, Chester and Clarence (Darlene) Anderson, sisters Helen (Merle) Raye and Ethel (William) Vail, infant sister Della, in-laws Leo & Elsie Godbout.
Per Marvin’s wishes, no funeral will be held at this time. A graveside service will be announced for a later date at Rockland Cemetery in McAdam.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion they provided for Marvin in his last days.
