Laren B. Leavitt

1951 - 2024

It is with great sadness that the family announce the sudden passing of Laren B. Leavitt at his home in St Stephen, NB on Friday November 1, 2024.

He was born in Back Bay, NB to the late Eddy and Hilda (Harris) Leavitt.

Laren grew up in Back Bay, NB with his parents and siblings.  He did many jobs from carpenter to fisherman over the years.  The one thing that gave him great pride was to coach his son’s hockey team over the years.

Later in life he loved to travel and enjoyed sitting at the bar talking to his friends, going to the casino to play poker and driving around in one of his many vehicles.

He always enjoyed spending time with his favorite people in the world; his son Blake, Blake’s wife Megan and granddaughters; Daryan and Fallyn.  From buying Daryan a corvette even before she was born and being so proud of her when she graduated high school to making sure Fallyn was every bit as spoiled as her sister and watching her graduate elementary school, he was very proud of their accomplishments.

Laren loved to take summer vacations to PEl with his family and was always ready when the girls would tell him he had to attend their cheerleading competitions.  If you knew him, you knew this was not his scene however he was more than happy to come cheer them on and always have roses waiting for them at the end.

His family meant everything to him and those who knew him will always remember him fondly and will miss him forever.

Laren will be greatly missed by his son Blake Leavitt (Megan), granddaughters; Daryan and Fallyn Leavitt, siblings; Eunice Lord (Alden), Marcia Heaysman (Art) and Edward Leavitt, sister-in-law; Glenna Leavitt, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother; Gaston Leavitt.

Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, N.B. on Friday November 8, 2024, at 2 PM.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 pm until service time.

For those who wish, donations in Laren’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Condolences can be made to the family online at mehanfuneralhome.ca
