It is with sadness the family of Dale E Acheson announce his passing at the Charlotte County Hospital, St Stephen, N.B. on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Born in St Stephen, NB he was the son of the late Olin D and Eileen G Acheson.
Dale lived his life to the fullest and knew how to have a great time. Anyone who knew him felt like his best buddy, he may not have remembered your name, but he would have definitely had a nick name for you. He was the life of the party and was forever telling stories and making people laugh.
He grew up in a musical household and chose the drums as his instrument of choice because they made the most noise. Dale prided himself on being the drummer for “The Ron Fisher Band” and travelled all over New Brunswick and into Maine.
Dale was self-employed for much of his life and was a jack of all trades (carpentry, drywalling, painting, varnishing, renovations). In his younger years he worked at Point Lepreau and moved to Fort McMurray to make a go of it for about a year. He had an affinity for finding buried treasures, selling odds and ends to make a buck and thought any of his antique finds were worth way more than they actually were. He loved his family and was surrounded by them all in the last days of his life.
Dale is survived by his wife, Francine Acheson, his children; Sher Acheson (Jeff), Candace Mitchell (Cory), Stephanie Acheson and Matthew Acheson, his siblings; Gordon Acheson (Dodie), Gary Acheson and Shirley Cloney (Mike), several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister; Sandra Matheson and brother in law; Gordon Matheson.
The family will receive guests at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, N.B. on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 12 PM to 2 PM. At 2 PM the family will have a small ceremony to celebrate Dale’s life. If anyone would like to tell a story or share a fond memory it would be appreciated.
There will be no burial at this time.
For those who wish, donations in Dale’s memory may be made to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family online at mehanfuneralhome.ca
