Bernice C. (Hopps) Fraser passed away Friday February 6, 2026, at her home surrounded by love and family.
She was born in Oak Haven, NB, 1932, the daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Hopps.
Bernice attended the country school at the ledge until she went to school in town, where she graduated 2nd in her class of 1950. She went on to work at the Bank of Nova Scotia until she married and decided to change careers to become a stay at home wife and mother.
Bernice was active in the United Church Women (UCW). When there was a bake sale, she often had half of her goods sold before they hit the table. Bernice was known for her homemade rolls, molasses cookies and of course, her doughnuts!
She enjoyed the farm life, preserving and canning all the vegetables Dad grew. Most knew that when you came to visit, you never left without a homemade cookie and a cup of tea or coffee.
Bernice was diagnosed with Dementia in 2012 and over the last 13 years, she struggled with the loss of her memory and physical decline. She had a good sense of humor up until the end of her life. Not everyday was good, but she liked to find something to laugh about.
Bernice is survived by her children; Lisa MacLean (James), Thomas and Stephanie Fraser-Brown (Kenny), her beloved grandchildren; Emily and Maxwell Brown, sister- in-law; Frances Hopps, niece; Ronda and nephew; Matthew, niece; Nancy Arseneault, her great- nephews; Mark and Alan, extended family by choice Kelly Kurtz-Johnson (Iain) and Seth Bartlett with whom she shared a special bond, she was his ‘Mother Bernice’.
Bernice was predeceased by her loving husband, Earle in 2019 their children; Esther Ruth (1977) and Brent Earle (1972), brothers; Eldon and Ronald.
Our family would like to extend our sincerest thanks and gratitude for her caregivers who allowed us to keep her at home.
