With tremendous sadness, the family of Betty Rose (Frost) Chase, announce her brave and peaceful passing at The Charlotte County Hospital on June 27th, 2025, with her family at her side, and after a three-time courageous battle with cancer. Betty was born in 1951 to the late Morton and Myrtle (Gowan) Frost.
Betty was a hard worker her entire life. In early years, with the help of family, she built a round wood cord home in Digdeguash which was the family home for many years. She also, with the help of family and friends, built The Clam Digger take-out and operated it successfully for a number of years, and is still a thriving business to this day. She was Manager of Sherriff Andrews House in St. Andrews for many years, organizing and providing tours for visitors and locals to enjoy. Her hands had many talents, whether it be making Christmas wreaths, kneading bread, sewing quilts, to strumming a guitar or building a shed with Uncle Bob, or driving a bus, she tackled them all with enthusiasm. She enjoyed acrylic painting, singing and playing at music jams and travelling. She spent many winters in Florida with her good friends Carole and Earle and Vada Rose. And at the least mention of a road trip, she would be packing the car to head out on another adventure.
Betty had a strong and deep bond for her family and close friends that she considered family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She would often share words of wisdom "Don’t claim that on yourself……and keep only positive thoughts", which she did throughout her own life. Her final words were "I love you All".
Betty is survived by her daughter Leanne Rose Woolley (Matt), her grandson Justin Woolley, her brothers Mort, aka Ding (Patty), and Hardy, aka Bear, several uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends too many to mention. She was a special Mom to Mike Frost, and special Aunt to Ben Frost and Hardy Frost, Jr. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her young brother, Danny and her husband and the love of her life, Roger Chase.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Charlotte County Hospital CCU and Floor One, and Dr. Julia Wildish for their tremendous and compassionate care, family friend Johnny Chambers for spiritual support and family and friends for their love and kindness.
Graveside service will be held at Bocabec Community Cemetery at 2 PM on Saturday July 19th, with reception following at Bocabec Community Hall, for family and close friends of our beautiful Betty. ❤️
