Dr. Suria Kumar “Bugsy” Bugwandin

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Bugsy, who left this world too soon on February 12th, 2025 at the age of 62. He was a devoted papa and doctor, a source of strength, wisdom, and kindness to all who knew him.

Born in Durban, South Africa- Bugsy lived a life filled with love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his daughter and patients. He was a man of integrity and warmth, always ready with a helping hand, a charming smile, and words of encouragement. His presence brought comfort and joy to those around him, and his legacy of love will forever live in our hearts.

He is survived by his baby girl, Chandika, who will forever cherish the memories and lessons he imparted.

A celebration of his life will be held at The S. O.  Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, N.B. on February 18, 2025 at 2 PM. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-2 PM where we will honour his memory with love and gratitude. In lieu of flowers, his daughter kindly requests donations to the IWK in his honor. Special thanks go out to the doctors and nurses at the SJRH ICU and the special people who were by his side when he passed.
