M. Catherine "Cathy" Moore, 91, of St. Stephen, N.B., passed peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St Stephen, NB on Monday December 23, 2024.

Cathy was born in Wallace Bridge, Nova Scotia, on October 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Cecil and Jane (Dotten) Scott.

She is survived by her daughter; Caroline MacDougall (Gary) of Bayside, N.B., sons; Brian (Bev) of Keswick, N.B. and Dave (Carole) of Ottawa, ON, grandchildren; Zara Matheson of Redlands, California, Alyssa Matheson of Toronto, ON and Scott Moore of Keswick, N.B., as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Donald Moore and her brother, Arthur Scott.

Cathy had fond memories of growing up on the family farm in Wallace, a small fishing and farming community on Northumberland Strait. After serving her country in a radar unit with the Canadian Armed Forces, Cathy entered the banking industry, where she met Don. One of their early postings was to the Bank of Montreal in St. Stephen. She continued to work intermittently in banking while raising their three children and supporting Don as he rose to the position of vice president of the bank.

Cathy was an avid gardener and loved to knit, weave and crochet. She and Don loved golfing so much they built a summer cottage next to the Brule Shore Golf Course. She also enjoyed bowling, when there was too much snow to golf.

Cathy will be greatly missed by her extended family.

There will not be a service, at Cathy’s request, and interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Wallace River at a later date.
