It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia
"Pat" Dionne, announce her passing at Lincourt Manor, St.
Stephen, NB on Monday, October 7th, 2024, at the age of
85.
Pat or Patsy as she was often called was the daughter of the
late Clarence and Doris Dougherty (Purcell).
Pat grew up in Milltown, NB graduating from Milltown High
School in 1957; from there she attended the Holy Rosary Business
College. It was here that Pat met the love of her life John
Dionne, and they built a wonderful life together that spanned more
than 6 decades.
Pat worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia and for several local
family physicians, but it was in the early 1980’s that she
began to provide in home daycare services which continued for nearly
40 years. Pat was so much more than a babysitter.
She cared for and loved each and every child that had the privilege of
spending their days with Pat and Big John (once he retired) and they
in turn adored her.
Pat was a devoted Catholic and an active member of her
parish. She enjoyed walking, baking and the simple pleasures
in life but none more so than spending time with her family.
Pat was a loving wife, devoted daughter and sister, and the most
wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend
anyone could ever hope for.
Pat is survived by her husband of 64 years John Dionne, her
children; Debra Thompson (Paul), Michael Dionne (Cindy) and Jeffrey
Dionne (Mellissa) her grandchildren; Lyndsey Thompson Barter (Brad),
Megan Boles (Brandon), Kierstin Dionne (Cody), Kaleb Dionne, Karissa
Dionne; Julia Dionne and Tyler Dionne as well as great grandchildren;
Jack, Mallory, Sawyer, Logan, Bayleigh, Isabella and Madelyn, her
sister; Nancy Dougherty.
In addition to her parents, Pat is predeceased by her
mother-in-law Margaret Dionne, several brother and sister in laws,
close family members and many dear friends.
