It is with profound sadness the family announce the unexpected passing of Bernard "BJ" LaPorte at his residence on Sunday May 12, 2024

Born in St Stephen, NB, son of Sylvia and Edward "Ted" LaPorte.

BJ enlisted in the Army, Department of National Defense and served his country for 11 years.  He enjoyed the outdoors, biking, and building things.  He didn’t ever leave home without his two side kicks, Lucy and Moose, his beloved dogs.  BJ had a heart of "Gold" and would always give one a helping hand whenever it was needed.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Robyn LaPorte, nephews, Greg, Mike and Nicholas (Naomi) niece, Sarah, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

BJ was predeceased by his brother, Edward "Teddy" LaPorte.

The family will receive friends at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on May 21, 2024 from 6-8 PM.  Royal Canadian Legion St Croix Branch #9 will conduct a tribute to a Veteran Service at 6:30 pm.
