It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the
passing Brenda Hyslop on Sunday May 5, 2024 at the Charlotte County
Hospital, St Stephen, NB.
Brenda was born in St. Stephen NB and grew up in Milltown,
she was the daughter of the late Mary and Jim
Gayton.
After graduating Brenda was a bookkeeper for Ganong Brothers
for a few years. After having her sons, she had her own housekeeping
business. She continued to work right up to her Cancer
diagnosis. Brenda also had a helping hand in both Triple H
Automative and Hyslop Transport with their bookkeeping. She
was very proud of both her boys businesses.
Brenda was larger than life. She spread joy with everyone she
encountered. She had touched the lives of so
many.
Her passion was her family especially all the children in her
life. She made every holiday extra special and genuinely
enjoyed every moment with the children and grandchildren. When it came
to her grandchildren Brenda would say "I never knew a person
could love so much"
Brenda’s favorite place on earth was at her family
camp in Digdeguash Lake, where she loved to swim, go for walks, paint
rocks, go fishing, catch frogs and of course taking them for a row in
her rowboat and she could row up a storm.
She was a devoted hockey/team mom who helped organize many
fundraising events along the way. From when her boys were in minor
hockey, High School Hockey, the Seahawks and Aces days. One of her
favourites things to do was proudly cheering on her grandkids during
their hockey games.
Brenda is survived by her adoring husband John, her two boys,
JJ and Shawn Hyslop (Erin), her greatest blessings in life,
granddaughter Gabby and grandson Lucas, special nieces and nephews
Mandi Milligan (Matthew), Jarret Milligan and Rachel Milligan, who she
also considered her daughter and grandchildren. She is also survived
by her loving sister Beverley Morrow and family, brother, Jim Gayton
(Sharon) and family, mother-in-law Georgie Hyslop, brother-in-law
Dennis Hyslop (Stephanie) and family, loving nieces and nephews, aunts
and uncles, all of her many cousins she stayed so close with over the
years and endless number of friends she considered
family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister
Karen Gayton, brother-in-law Dave Morrow and father-in-law Chet
Hyslop.
Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son
Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Saturday May
11, 2024, at 2 pm. The family will receive friends at the
funeral home on Friday May 10, 2024, from 6 – 8 pm and
