It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Richard,
announce the sudden death of their beloved husband, father, and
grandfather at age 65, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Charlotte
County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB.
Mike was a remarkable person who had the biggest heart
touching the lives of many others in his community and left us all far
too soon; the impact will be felt for years to come.
Mike was a talented athlete, known for his many years of
playing softball and hockey, having a true love and passion for
sports. His favourite teams were the Boston Red Sox and the Toronto
Maple Leafs and I am sure he would want you all to root them on during
this playoff season.
He was the biggest jokester with an infectious sense
of humor always being up for a laugh, a man who prided himself on
making others around him feel important and welcome in any situation
that they may be in.
Above anything else Mike was always a family man first making
his three beautiful girls the centre of his world. He loved nothing
more than spending time and supporting them with everything they did
while always having the biggest smile on his face. His love for them
knew no bounds, and his memory will live on through the love that they
shared.
Mike survived by his loving wife Brenda of 43 years,
beautiful daughter Stephanie, son-in-law Travis, darling
granddaughter Ashlynn Rose, mother-in-law, Lela Hastey, aunts and
uncles; Jim Richard, Fred Richard (Marie), Florida Eastman,
Sophie Richard, Eric Richard (Doreen), brothers-in-law;
Delbert Hastey, Gary Hastey (Linda), Doug Hastey (Levonne),
Irving Hastey, David Hastey (Viola), sister-in law Edith Belyea,
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was predeceased by his parents Edmond and Rose Richard,
father-in-law David Hastey, maternal and paternal grandparents, and
his beloved golden lab Sadie Girl.
Services will be held to honor his life and legacy at The
S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St.
Stephen, N.B. on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 2 PM and we hope
that it can bring comfort and peace to all who attend. Visitation will
be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8
PM.
Interment at Pomeroy Ridge Cemetery, Pomeroy Ridge,
