It is with great sadness that the family of David M. Bires
announces his passing on April 6th, 2024 at the
Charlotte County Hospital, St Stephen, NB.
David was born in St Stephen, NB son of the late John and
Melba (Marsh) Bires.
David graduated from UNB Fredericton, NB in 1974 with a
Bachelor of Science. He began working at Customs and
Immigration as a summer student in 1972. He finished his
career with them in 1993. He took several forestry courses
through the years and he had a Prospector’s
Licence. He was an avid outdoorsman and he worked several
years on his beloved woodlot in Mohannes, NB, from 1992 to
2011. He loved to hunt, fish and one of his favorite things
was to get the biggest Christmas tree he could find on his land and
surprise Susan with it every year while they tried to fit it through
the front door.
He loved his pets and over the years he provided a wonderful
home for his dogs and cats. David and his cousins, Debbie
and Kathie along with his aunts, Avis and Marguerite, spent many
summer vacations in the back of a station wagon, travelling the
country with their five dogs and one cat.
He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and all
their accomplishments. They all loved their grandfather
dearly.
David is survived by his loving wife Susan
(Rogers). They have four children, Rebekah (Jason)
Smith, David (Nicole), Sarah (Tim) Brown and John Lee (Maria
Omar). He is also survived by his eight loving
grandchildren, Noah and Marshall Smith, Madison Bires, Jayden Roy,
