Ernest "Ernie" C. Daye of McAdam, NB passed away peacefully on Sunday,March 10, 2024 at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton,N.B.

Born in Canterbury, N.B., son of the late John and Lena (Biggar) Daye.

Ernie worked as woodsman most of his life.  Before his retirement, he was employed with True North Salmon for 14 years.

Ernest is survived by his wife of 33 years, Darlene (Scott), who he loved and cherished, daughter, Heather MacNeil (Chris), son, Michael Daye (Sophie), children; Tammy (Bobby), Kim, Coleman, John, Richard, Chris, Ernest Jr, Ann Marie and Ricky, grandchildren; Bayleigh, Owen, Lily, Noah, Arian, Austin, Sierra, Zachary, Luke, Chris and Labriska, great-granddaughter, Brooklyn, special brother-in-law, Mike Scott, a very special guy who Ernie called his "brother", Benny and very dear friends, Larry Curtis and Fred MacKay.

In addition to his parents, Ernie was also predeceased by his father-in-law, Hazen, mother-in-law, Agnes, several aunts, uncles, cousins and son-in-law, Greg.

Special thanks to Medigas and Jim, who Ernie enjoyed talking with.  Extra Mural team, Heidi and the nurses at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital, especially Michelle, who stayed by our side.

Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd, 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 13, 2024 at 3 PM.  Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 PM until service time.
