Isaac Thompson, beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on February 5th, 2024, at the young age of 24. Isaac worked hard as an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright; he was proudly the third generation Thompson at Flakeboard/Arauco. He took pride in his trade and enjoyed working for his uncle Peter and cousin Nick in his spare time at MMF.
Isaac’s life unfolded along the shores of Oak Haven, N.B. His love for the outdoors knew no bounds, encompassing everything from boating, golfing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, and four-wheeling. Isaac was a spirited adventurer, always eager to embark on journeys with friends, whether it was hitting the slopes on a snowboard or basking in the tropical warmth on southern beaches. He embraced every opportunity and moments in life for spontaneous experiences.
Isaac loved the finer things in life, dinners at the Rossmount with Macallan whiskey, to luxury sunglasses. He appreciated high quality craftmanship in all areas of life. He lived life as an old soul with a fine eye for all things vintage, from the clothes he wore to his taste in music. Listening to vinyl classics on his Victrola, Isaac cherished the nostalgia that came with each crackle and pop of the vinyl. His turntable was more than a piece of equipment, but an invitation to many intimate moments with his parents and sister, where they sang together and talked about everything under the sun. Isaac’s passion for his LPs is a true testament to his deep appreciation for the timeless classics. Alongside his love of vintage music, Isaac was deeply fascinated with history. He immersed himself in documentaries, exploring the intricacies of the past. His love for history was more than a hobby, but a reflection of his deep respect for the lessons and events that shaped our world. In every aspect of his life, from his choice of music to his passion for history, Isaac embraced the richness of the past, leaving an everlasting mark as an old soul.
Isaac is survived by his loving parents, Brian and Lisa (nee Dinsmore) Thompson, his best friend and sister, Christina (Peter), his maternal grandmother Margaret Dinsmore, his Aunt Ann (Tim), Uncle Peter (Karen). Uncle Kevin (Kim), Uncle David (Amanda) and Aunt Susan. His close-knit cousins; Manda, Elizabeth (Ross), Anita (JT), David (Kristen), Nick (Carlee), Danielle (Scott), Luke (Kayla), Paige, Hunter, Morgan (Kyle), and Mallory. And several life-long friends.
Isaac was predeceased by paternal grandparents Donnie and Joan Thompson, and maternal grandfather Douglas Dinsmore.
A celebration of Isaac’s life will be held at the Kirk McColl United Church, 70 King Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11 AM.
