It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Arlene A. (Parks) Whittaker on January 22, 2024.

Born in 1929, in Four Falls, New Brunswick to Anthony and Eva (Hamilton) Parks.

Our Mom wore several hats but most prominently was her career in law enforcement as Canadian Border Services Officer.  Previous to that she and Dad were involved in several businesses: hotel, restaurant and convenience store.

Mom had a wonderful sense of humor which she had passed onto her children and will continue for years to come.

Above all these, she was Mom to her four children, Ingrid McGowan, Donna Reid (Ron), Twila Cloney and Tony Whittaker (Rejeanne).  She loved her grandchildren with all her heart, Jeannette Maenhout (Adam Johnson), Jason Reid (Matti Nijjer), Katie Holt (Sheldon), Heather Cloney (Joe Scott), Julie Cloney (Adam Breau), Michael Cloney (Chloe Brown), Meaghan Whittaker, Erin Whittaker, Nicole Leblanc (Phillip) and Jeremy Paul, several great grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.  Mom is also survived by her sisters, Almeda Rogers, Margaret Whittaker, Holly Matthews and June Demerchant, several nieces and nephews that she thought of as her own.

In addition to her parents, Mom was predeceased by her husband and loving Dad, Ralph (2016), sisters, Leona Davenport, Jean Norsworthy, Muriel Rogers and her only brother Keith Parks.

We are rejoicing that she is finally reunited with our Dad.

Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd, 23 Main Street  St Stephen, NB from where the funeral service will be held on Friday January 26, 2024 at 2 pm.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until service time. Livestream of the funeral service will also be available.

Interment will be at the St Stephen Rural Cemetery, St Stehen, New Brunswick.

For those who wish, donations to Charlotte County SPCA, Gateway Cathedral or a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated.  Condolences may be sent online to www.mehanfuneralhome.ca
