Eveline Babineau, 92, passed away peacefully at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB, on Monday, November 27, 2023. Born in Acadieville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Antoine and Marguerite (Gallant) Bordage.

Eveline wore many hats, she was a wife, mother and foster mother. She moved to St. Stephen in 1962, she did not know anyone and could not speak the English language. She embraced and instilled herself into the community, she even took English courses to help with the language barrier. She worked many jobs throughout her life, she worked as a nanny, a labourer at the Tuna plant, a day care worker and housekeeping at the Fundy Line Motel. She ended her working career in the dietary department at Charlotte County Hospital, after 20+ years, retiring at the age of 62. One of her great accomplishments was being a mom and grandmother and getting her drivers license at the age of 50, she then became a driving instructor for her granddaughter in the late 80s, LOL. Eveline loved spending time with her family and friends, she truly loved her grandchildren. Her love of county music, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Johnny Cash and Charlie Pride, just to name a few. Listening to the music would inspire her to dance, she loved to dance, socialize and laugh. In her later years she always enjoyed a good game of cards, and she did not like to lose! Eveline lived and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Eveline leaves to mourn, her daughter, Ginette Richard-Hansen (Mark), grandchildren, Lisa Wright (Chris) and Jody Worrell, four beautiful great- grandchildren, Shalice, Regan Lee, Chase & Ryder.

Eveline will also be sadly missed by her sister, Cecile Chavarie (Alyre) of Saint Charles, NB., her brother-in-law, Medric Robichaud of Acadieville, NB as well as, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eveline was predeceased by her husband Delphise, five sisters, Zelia Hache, Marianne LeBlanc, Flora Landry, Leocadie Daigle & Lea Robichaud, six brothers, Ulysse, Leo, Dolphee, Father Adrien, Eloi and Albert.

There will be no visitation or funeral services at this time, a celebration of life to be announced.

For those who wish, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mehanfuneralhome.ca

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB, for the friendships and excellent care provided to Eveline.
