GREGORY A. DUNN - A loving and dedicated husband. A supporting and caring father. The proudest grandfather. Greg passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the age of 72, with his wife and boys by his side.

Born to Darrold and Dorothy Dunn at Chipman Memorial Hospital in 1951, Greg grew up in Lawrence Station alongside his older brother. He attended Lawrence Station School, for 11 years, until it was time to move to the high school in St. Stephen, where he graduated in 1969.

After high school, Greg began working right away. His first job was with NB Tel, but he decided that wasn’t for him so came back to Lawrence Station to work in the woods. He held positions in the logging industry with a few different companies, but never got too far away from home and ultimately settled on being his own boss and worked independently in the woods until he decided to retire and take it easier.  But he still loved to be in the woods and outdoors working on firewood and his tree lots.

He met his future wife, Nona in 1971 and the two were married in July of 1974. They built a beautiful home in Lawrence Station, not far from his childhood home, and raised their four boys there.

Greg was an extremely hard worker and a dedicated family man, who also found time for others. He spent time as a volunteer firefighter, he was a helpful neighbour, willing to lend a calloused hand to help his family, friends, church and community. Greg was a proud man, a caring man and a music man. He enjoyed the simple things in life, including playing both the piano and the guitar, and sharing his music with others. He especially loved to play for the seniors in nursing homes and seniors’ homes.

Greg loved his family and was extremely proud of his boys, their accomplishments and the men they became. He was also very proud of his grandchildren. He enjoyed any time he spent with them whether it was playing sports, playing cards, wrestling around, watching them at their sports, teaching them "questionable songs" and telling them all the crazy stories of his younger days, which they will cherish.

Greg is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Winona "Nona" (nee Wetmore), four sons, Dallas (Tracy), Darren (Virginia), Travis (Carrie) and Tyler, seven grandchildren, Coster, Trinity, Tenley, Rennah, Cailyn, Declan and Paxton.

In addition to his parents, Greg was predeceased by his brother, Bev, father- in- law, Jim Wetmore and mother-in- law, Patricia Wetmore.

Greg will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His sharp wit and genuine character are the legacy he leaves with his sons and grandchildren as they all possess these traits.

In keeping with Greg’s wishes, a private family interment will take place at a later date.

A special thank you to everyone who came to visit or called in his last months. In lieu of flowers we ask that you live each day to the fullest and let those around you know you care, for time is a thief and life is so brief. If you wish to donate in Greg’s memory, the family suggests giving to The Charlotte County Cancer or The Salvation Army. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mehanfuneralhome.ca
