It is with great sadness the family of Dale L Black announce
his peaceful passing on May 24, 2023 with family by his side at
Charlotte County Hospital.
Born in St.
Stephen in 1951, son of the late Melvin Black and Frances (Logan)
MacArthur.
Dale moved to the Winona/Beamsville, Ontario area when he was just 1 year old, later moving to Stoney Creek where he attended school up until he was 16. He delivered the Globe and Mail newspaper every morning before school and in his teen years worked at the Royal Burger. Dale came home to visit his grandfather every summer in Dumbarton, NB where he loved being with the horses, their dog Sparky and helping on the farm. He grew up on the Niagara fruit belt, which he described as one of the most beautiful areas he had ever seen, however, the woodsman in him longed to moved back to New Brunswick. He bought his first chainsaw at the age of 16 and headed home to live with his grandparents. He spent many years working in the woods for various companies including Georgia Pacific, Lucas Tree Company, etc all over the Maritimes and New England, eventually becoming self employed.
He spent 50 years living on the Board Road and in recent years, moved to St. George. Dale was a Jack of all trades and was meticulous in everything he set out to do. This showed in everything he owned whether it was his pristine garage, his vehicles or his home.
He was a great gardener, loved old western movies and County
music
Dale leaves behind his loving and
devoted wife of 52 years, Sally, daughter Lori Day, son-in-law Frank
Day, son Kevin Black, grandchildren, Brooke Lister (Nate), Mitchell
Walker (Ana), Jordyn Day and three great grandchildren, Lane, Baker
& Dallan ´the boys ‘ as he lovingly
referred to them. He would have loved to watch them grow up
and see what they accomplished. He is also survived by two brothers,
Eugene (Noella) and David, brothers -in- law, Gary (Kathy),
Allison, Perry (Angie), several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents Dale was predeceased by
