It is with great sadness the family of H. Louise Brockway announces her passing at Charlotte County Hospital, St Stephen, NB on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

Born in St George, NB in 1949, daughter of the late Ronald and Ruth Brockway.

Louise was a kind soul who exhibited extreme passion and confidence in all aspects of her life. Her professional career began when she attended nursing school in 1970 at Hotel Dieu in Chatham, NB with her sister Nancy. From there she went on to work for a couple of years at St Josephs Hospital and then ultimately found her career home at Charlotte County Hospital where she spent the majority of her 30 plus years as a nurse. She ended her career with CCH as Nurse Supervisor, a role in which she took great pride and handled with utmost professionalism and heart.

In her personal life, Louise shared her home with her beloved sister, Nancy. Together they enjoyed gardening, walking, a passion for the Red Sox and Boston Celtics, traveling, and spending time with family. She was a doting Aunt to her two nieces. She and Nancy often took them on vacations as children and showered them with love and affection. She continued to do this into adulthood and was thrilled to be able to do the same with her great nieces, whom she loved very much.

Louise was a lover of Christmas! She enjoyed hosting Christmas work parties, lavish decorations and one of her most favourite things, shopping!! She also enjoyed spending a great deal of time with her family including her brother, Donnie who always made her laugh and her cousins from out of town who left her with wonderful stories and memories.

One of her other great passions for which she will be remembered for is her love of cooking. She often baked pies for friends and neighbours. She also made wonderful breads and her famous "Weezer’s Caesar" salad.

She was a loving woman at the heart of her family and will be greatly missed.

Louise is survived by her sister Nancy Brockway, brother, Donald Brockway (Joanne), nieces, Jennifer Hartford (Andrew) and Ashley (Maddie), one great niece, Briella Hartford.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved aunts and one uncle as well as her great niece, Kiera Hartford.

A funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, N.B. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 2 PM.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12-2 PM.
