The family of Roy E. Rideout of Beaver Dam, N.B., announce
his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, N.B. on
Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
Roy was born in November 1943, the third child of Kenneth and
Edith Rideout. Roy grew up in Old Ridge with his sister,
Joyce and three brothers, James, David and
Glen.
While there are many memories and stories of time spent with
his siblings, he was involved in the infamous Rideout family story of
"testing speedometers" which involved two cars, a lot of
dust and a train on the Maxwell Crossing Road.
Roy worked for Wood Motors Ford in Fredericton for over 30
years. In retirement, Roy enjoyed travelling to horse pull
events throughout New Brunswick, square dancing and connecting with
family and friends.
Roy is survived by his sister, Joyce Reid (Al), brothers,
David (Wendy) and Glen (Linda), sister-in-law, Charlene and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by his wife
Maxine, and his brother, James.
A graveside service will be held at the Moores
Mills Cemetery, Moores Mills, N.B. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 3
PM.
For those who wish, donations in memory of Roy may be made to
a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the
