It is with great sadness, the family of Jennifer Underhill announce her peaceful passing, surrounded by family, in the comfort of her own home and bed, on Sunday, March 12, 2023.

Jennifer was born on Grand Manan Island in 1954. She grew up playing basketball, swimming, taking care of stray animals, and exploring outside. After leaving the island, Jennifer moved to Fredericton and worked at the Post Office, then into Real Estate, loving both experiences. Meanwhile, doing things like skydiving, scuba diving, travelling, gardening, getting married, and having a daughter. Along with all her many talents, she could sing like a bird, was the best conversationalist (solving all the worlds problems), and could give the best advice.

With a hunger to learn, she furthered her education graduating from St. Thomas University in Social Work and Psychology. Later, continuing to the University of Maine with a scholarship, gaining her Master’s in Social Work. Where she would then give her all to the well being of helping families, as her final career choice.

Jennifer always put others' needs first, a very compassionate and kind woman. Always consistent in her love and always true to her word. After her retirement, she spent her time with her husband and daughter, collecting beach glass, laughs and memories.  But above all, she was an exemplary wife, mother, sister and friend.  She will be forever in our hearts and minds, never forgotten.

Survived by her husband of 33 years, Thomas Underhill, daughter (and best friend), Katherine Underhill-Way, son-in-law, Bryan Way, grandson, Thomas Underhill-Way, soon-to-be grand daughter Jennifer Underhill-Way, sister, Susan (Gary) Ingalls Williams, aunt, Marjorie (Ingalls) Davidson, niece, Lesley Bennett, nephew, Jared Williams, their families, and several cousins.

Jennifer is also survived by her dear friends and extended family, Marjorie (Underhill) Davidson, Catherine Underhill, Barb and Al Smith, Dolores Petley, Evelyn Fillmore, Cathie Mcelman, high school ‘6 Pack’ Anne Carvell, Cathy O’Neil, Lynn Reichart, Roe Wilcox, and Wilma Green. Joanne Way, Tella McKinney, Ceilidh Hornell, Lisa Daigle, Stefany Hovey, (and many more) whom she all loved and adored.

She was predeceased by her parents, Warren and Annie (Carr) Ingalls, and infant sister, Elizabeth.

A Celebration of her Life  will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Friday, March 17, 2023  from 2-5 PM. During the gathering in her honor, we invite family and friends to share memories, kind words, or say goodbye. But as Jen would say with a smile, "please do not feel obligated".

Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery will be held at a date and time to be announced.

For those who wish,  in lieu of flowers,  memorial donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or Charlotte County SPCA would be appreciated. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mehanfuneralhome.ca

The family wishes to thank Dr. Burnell, and oncology staff at Saint John Regional Hospital and Charlotte Country Hospital for their 12 plus years of dedication and care to Jennifer, Extra Mural staff, and the staff at S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home.

"More and Most, Mommy."
