It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur L. Adams
wish to announce his peaceful passing at the Saint John Regional
Hospital, Saint John, N.B on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Born in
McAdam, N.B. son of the late Charles Adams Sr. and Mabel (Sutherland)
Adams.
Arthur worked on the railroad until his retirement in 1995
while serving both Canadian Pacific and Canadian Atlantic Railway,
where he made a lot of lifelong friends. He was not afraid of hard
work. He worked in the woods for extra money to support his family. He
enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. He took pride in his vegetable
garden every summer and could not wait to show off the vegetables that
he grew. Arthur had a lot of faith and enjoyed going to church on
Sundays.
A loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather. In addition to his wife, Mary Jean (Stevenson)
Adams, Arthur will be deeply missed by his sons, William
"Billy" (Nicole) Adams, Arthur (Julia) Adams, daughters,
Angela Adams and Carol (Jeremy) Jackson; his grandchildren, Shane,
Jacob, Kyra, Jayla, Jessica (Taylor), Brayden and Aiden; great
grandchild, Elijah. Also, step-children, Betty (Blaine) Tapley, Wesley
Berry, Tom McKnight (Nathalie), Joanne (Tom) Babcock, Jackie Dempsey,
Judy (John) Quartermain and David McKnight (Dianne);
thirteen step-grandchildren and nineteen
great-step-grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Greenlaw, Mabel Parks,
Sylvia Day and brother,Charlie Adams; as well as many nieces, nephews
and friends.
Arthur was predeceased by his siblings, Baby Violet Adams,
Blanche Purdy, Bessie Bradford, Richard "Dick" Adams, Floyd
Adams, Judy Smith, Beatrice Parks and Diana Jordan; stepdaughters,
Carolanne McKnight and Debbie Berry; as well as nieces and
nephews.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23
Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. from where the service will be held on
Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 2 PM. Visitation will be held at the
funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 – 1:45
PM.
The family has requested that
everyone please wear a mask
while attending the visitation and
funeral.
Interment at Oak Bay Rural Cemetery, Oak Bay,
N..B.
