Ernest Edward Gaddas passed away unexpectedly in Toronto, ON,
on May 13, 2022. Born in St Stephen, NB, he was the son of the late
Louise Edna (Matheson) and Frank Edward Gaddas. Raised in St Stephen,
NB, he was a welder by trade and also worked at lumbering. He loved to
travel, especially by bus, and could often be found in conversation
with friends at Tim Hortons.
Ernie is survived by three brothers: Ron (Joanne) of
Pennfield, NB, Frank, Jr, (Carlene) of St Stephen, NB, and Gary of St
Stephen, NB; four sisters: Debbie Gibson (Clarence) of Little Ridge,
NB, Pamela Smith (David) of Little Ridge, NB, Dianne Casey (Everett)
of Oak Hill, NB, and Cindy Hartford (Brian) of St Stephen, NB; one
brother-in-law: David Richardson of St Stephen, NB; two aunts: Ruby
Andrews of Calais, ME, and Marilyn James of Baileyville, ME., as well
as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Ernie was predeceased by sisters Susan
Gaddas and Brenda Richardson.
Cremation has taken place and Ernie’s ashes will be
buried in the family lot in the St Stephen Rural Cemetery. Family and
friends are welcome to attend a graveside service to be held on
Friday, June 3, at 2:00 pm.
