With the return of Zone 2 back to the Orange level, these are the new guidelines regarding funerals and visitations, that take effect January 27, 2021.
They are as follows:
-Funeral services, indoor or outdoor, are limited to 25 people or fewer. Everyone must be social distanced (2 metres) and masks are mandatory. Singing is not permitted.
-No public visitations, but private visitations can be held and are limited to a single household bubble.
-In person meetings with funeral directors to finalize arrangements are limited to a single household bubble.
-Funeral services are encouraged to be done virtually.
A single household bubble includes the people you live with. Where required, a single household bubble can be extended to include:
Caregiver(s)
A family member that needs support from someone within the household
One other person who needs support (for example, someone who lives alone, or another family member).
NEW: The newest Mandatory Order allows for immediate family to enter NB from other parts of Canada for a palliative or end of life visit. There is no longer any provision for entry into New Brunswick to attend a funeral, even for immediate family.
