Dorothy P. (Welton) Smet
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Dorothy Smet, wife of the late Leon R. Smet, on Sunday Dec. 13, 2020 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB.
Dorothy was born in 1928, daughter of the late Alick & Maggie Welton of Brantford Ont. She was the youngest of 10 children.
As a young woman, she devoted her time to the full-time ministry which brought her and Leon to St. Stephen. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses she spent her life raising a family and serving her God Jehovah.
Dorothy is missed by her family, Gregory (Carol), Mark (Gail), David (Jennifer), Robert (Catherine) and Wayne (Melanie), as well as by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Although we are sad, we look forward to the Bibles promise at John 5: 28,29 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out" & Rev 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
A virtual memorial was held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at jw.org or another local charity.
Greg, Mark, Dave, Robert, Wayne & their families, would like to thank all those who cared for, and shared their love for Dot.
