Larry C. Worrell

1942 - 2023

The family of Larry C. Worrell are deeply saddened to announce his passing at the Charlotte County Hospital on Saturday, January 7th after a brief illness.

Born in St. Stephen, NB, the son of the late Frank and Helen (Higgs) Worrell. Larry spent his younger years on the Worrell family farm in Baillie tending to the animals with his father, Frank.

Larry has a love of sports, especially baseball and hockey. Larry loved the Toronto Blue Jays and could tell you any stats or player information you wanted to know. Larry was also a baseball player in his younger years, playing for the Rollingdam team which he would later coach. Larry also served as an umpire in the Charlotte County fast ball league where he loved to chat with players on the teams. Larry also loved to chat on the phone, unless there was a game on.

Larry worked at the Starkist Tuna Plant in Bayside for 21 years before moving on to McCain’s as a supervisor and forklift operator. Larry ended his career at the St. Andrews Algonquin Golf Course where he maintained the greens for 30 years before retiring at 78 years old.

Larry loved his kids and grandchildren tremendously. He especially loved making them laugh with his jokes and humorous demeanor and anecdotes. Although Larry was a quiet man, he was a man with the biggest heart and kindest soul. You would never hear Larry yell, unless it was STRIKE!  on the baseball field. Larry was also an animal lover and especially doted on his beloved cat Chloe, or Kahlua or Coco. Whichever name that came out of his mouth that day. Then he would giggle knowing he messed it up.

"Well where would we be if we couldn’t have a laugh," he would always say.

Larry is survived by his son, Tracy Worrell and daughter Joelle Worrell, granddaughter Jenna Agnew (Scott) and grandson Aron Densmore (Brooklyn), sisters Carol Small (Darrell), and Linda Harris (Tim) brother Glenn Worrell (Maureen) nieces, Lisa Worrell- Wright and Amanda Booth,  nephews,  Troy Small, Shawn Small, Eric Geroux, Jody Worrell and Brett Harris. Larry was also close to his cousins Ricky Palmer, Bonnie McGraw and Janice Worrell.

In addition to his parents, Larry is predeceased by his daughter Kelly Worrell and sister Annette Saunders (Rick).
