Merlin Foster, resident of Bocabec, New Brunswick passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 24th, 2020 at Charlotte County Hospital.

He will be remembered for how much he loved his wife Betty every day that she was alive and how much he missed her every day after she died. We will miss his ability to tinker and fix almost anything, his mischievous teasing and ability to laugh, as well as his insatiable appetite for candy.

Born on August 13th, 1929 in Bocabec NB, Merlin is pre-deceased by his wife Betty, his parents Annie (Campbell) and Miles Foster, siblings Kenneth Foster, Elva Holt and Camilla Johnson.

Merlin is survived and will be dearly missed by his three children Dennis Foster (Sandra) of Bocabec NB, David Foster (Margaret) of Waweig NB, and Barbara Harvey (Roy) of Calgary AB, two brothers Burton Foster and Miles Foster of Charlottetown PEI, five grandchildren Cindy Kohler (Adam), Matthew Foster (Jennifer), Michael Harvey (Janelle), Joy Reynolds (Eric), and Paul Harvey (Kara) as well as seven great grandchildren, Lukas Kohler, Dylan, Sophia, and Isabella Foster, Adalee and Kaleb Harvey, and Belle Reynolds, in addition to his many nieces and nephews.

A private service for family and close friends will be held at a later date at Bocabec Cemetery.

For those who wish, donations in Merlin’s memory can be made to the Charlotte County SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Online condolences and memories shared from when he was a devoted school bus owner and driver, during his long career as foreman of the local arena, or any time in between, may be sent to www.mehanfuneralhome.ca or directly to the family.
