Sylvia Pearl Matheson passed suddenly at the Charlotte County Hospital on January 5, 2020, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 24, 1942 in Lynnfield, NB and was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Pearl Erskine.

She is survived by her children; Terry Matheson (Rocky), Debbie Gardner (Reggie), Linda Matheson, Donnie Matheson (Debbie), Lorrie Newman (John), Norma Essency (Jeff), grandchildren, Tanya (Jeremy), Doug (Shanna), Brian (Nicole), Tina, Kim (Dana), Sheldon (Katie), Brandon, Kyle (Amanda), Cody (Hollyanne), Keaton (Shyla), Michael,  Brittany (Cameron), Ciera and Cheyanne.  Also survived by her brothers Donnie (Cathy), Wayne (Pattianne) and sisters, Nancy (Allan), Louise (Basil), Darlene (David) as well as several great grandchildren and one great-great grandson and a chosen sister, Rita Benson.

Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, George Matheson, significant other for over 20 years, Ronald Hastey, daughter, Bonita Matheson, grandson, Ron Johnson, great grandson, Liam Matheson and her brother Ronnie Erskine.

Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main St., St. Stephen, NB from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Doug McLean officiating.

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM.

Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Oak Hill, NB.
