Anna Patricia McShane James, age 64, passed away while in the
loving care of the wonderful people at Hospice of Fredericton on
Thursday the 7th of November in Fredericton,
NB.
Anna was born August 26, 1955, in St. Stephen, NB, the
seventh of 12 McShane siblings. But she certainly never got lost in
the crowd. Anna was a strong woman who blazed a trail in life for her
family. With her love of sewing and handiwork, she became known as the
"Wee Irish Cobbler."
Anna is also well known in our community for her work with
children. Her caring and nurturing nature helped her enjoy many years
working in the school system and helping with various
programs.
She spent most of her life in the St. Stephen area before
moving to "The Lake" – which she called
home for the past several years.
Friends and family will always remember Anna’s
laugh and her genuine love for life and the people she shared it with.
She had a quick wit and a great, if sometimes dark, sense of
humour.
Anna’s greatest joy has been her grandchildren. She
loved spending time with them at the lake, swimming, painting rocks
and gardening.
Anna is pre-deceased by her son, Adam James, her father, Carl
McShane, sister, Linda Babineau, sister, Kathy Clark, brother, Danny
McShane and nephew, Kirk Clark.
She is survived by her mother, Geraldine McShane, of St.
Stephen, daughter, Andrea Henderson and her husband, Mike, of
Oromocto, NB, by her grandchildren, Keaghan Porelle, and Grace James,
of St. Stephen, Blair and Maryn Henderson, of Oromocto, NB. Anna is
also survived by her siblings, Mark (Carol), Gary (Jane), Tim
(Peter),Joey (Denise), Donna, Kim, Bernadette (Mark) and Jeff
(Krista), as well as many close nieces and nephews, cousins and her
beloved cat, Willy.
We will celebrate Anna’s life with a service at the
Milltown Catholic Church, Milltown Blvd., St Stephen, NB. On
Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 10 AM. The family will receive friends
and family at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main
Street, St. Stephen, NB. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 2-4 and
6-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, if so desired, please consider donating
