Carmeline (Legace) Avery passed away at the
Charlotte County Hospital in St. Stephen, NB on Sunday, August 11,
2019, at the age of 77. She was the daughter of the late Rena and
Thomas Legace of Milltown, NB, and wife of the late Bev
Avery.
Carm was a
lifelong resident of St. Stephen. She joined the work force at a young
age at the Bank of Montreal, and later moved to the Administrative
office at the Canada Border Services Agency where she
retired.
Quiet and reserved by nature, Carm was a very
kindhearted individual. She was always thinking of others. She enjoyed
reading and listening to music. In her younger years, Carm enjoyed
bowling and she was a member of the St. Croix Cloggers. She enjoyed
hiking with Bev, and time spent in their travel trailer at their
favourite campground near Saint Andrews.
Carmeline is survived by her sister
Sandra (Legace) Jardine, her brother Jeff Legace (wife Janice), her
niece Trudi Jardine, her nephew Jarret Meadows (wife Melissa), all of
Fredericton, and her niece Katie (Legace) Goreham (husband Trevor and
their daughter Felicity) of Halifax. In addition to her parents and
husband, Carm was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law JoAnne
and Barry Meadows, and her brother-in-law Paul
Jardine.
The
family would like to thank Dr. Lister for his many years of care, as
well as the nursing staff of the first floor and Palliative Care unit
at the Charlotte County Hospital, and the staff at McLay’s
Oak Bay Haven. Special thanks to Carm’s cousins Paul Donahue
and Bonnie Beck for being such faithful visitors. She appreciated and
enjoyed you both so much.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The S. O. Mehan
& Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private burial will
take place at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family
