Elinor ""Elley"" May Getchell

Elinor ""Elley"" May Getchell

It is with great sorrow that the family of Elinor "Elley" May Getchell announces her peaceful passing at Charlotte County Hospital on April 13, 2018.

Elley was born in Sourthern Ontario, the daughter of Lloyd and Hilda Jones.

She met her husband Wayne and moved to St. Stephen to begin their young lives together in what would become her forever home. To many, Elley will be remembered as the kind-hearted owner of Elley's Antiques on King Street, her business and passion for almost 20 years. Elley was active in the community, starting or contributing to several groups in support of Fibromyalgia and Arthritis sufferers. Elley enjoyed a great many pursuits during her life, including toll painting, clogging, alpine skiing, riding the open road on her motorcycle with her husband, bike rallies, and listening to Wayne as he played his guitar whether he was with a band, or when they were alone together. She truly was, and will always be, his greatest fan.

Elley is survived by her loving husband of almost 38 years, Wayne Hazen Getchell, step children; David (Melanie) Getchell, Debbie Getchell (John Plouffe), sister, Debbie (Bruce) Symington (all of Ontario), beloved grandchildren; Michelle (Joey) Anderson of Tower Hill, NB, Cassandra-Lynn Brannan of Thunder Bay , Ontario, Zack (Bekah) Getchell, Julia and Amanda Getchell, Jesse Getchell-Plouffe, all of Ontario, cherished great-grandchildren; Tanner Anderson of Tower Hill, Brady and Calista Brannan of Thunder Bay, and Cameron Getchell of Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elley was predeceased by her brothers, Donald and George Jones and her daughter, Alley Neumann (Rick), and is with her now and forever.

The family would like to send special thanks to the Extra Mural Nurses, Home Support, and the staff of CCH Emergency Department, CCU and palliative care unit for all of their support with Elley. "Always kiss me goodnight".

At Elley's request, there will be no funeral service or visitation
