Virginia Faye Olsen

OLSEN- Virginia Faye Olsen, age 77, of Milltown, NB passed away peacefully April 14, 2015 at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital Kingston, ON with her loving sisters Treva and Eileen by her side after a long and brave struggle with cancer.

Virginia was born May 31, 1937 in St. Stephen, NB the oldest daughter of the late Joseph A. Olsen and Margaret PJ Stewart.

Survived by daughter; Susan (Wesley) Pottle, granddaughter; Faith and grandson; Wesley, great-grandchildren; Hailey, Hunter and Carter all of Kingston, ON, brother; Lloyd (Wendy), sisters; Treva (Martin), Yvonne (Curt), Eileen (David), Darlene (Wayne), many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by one brother; Joseph M Olsen. Virginia (Virg) (Jenny's) dedication in helping her community senior citizens, and those she felt may be underprivileged, in her 77 years on this earth was inspiring. She could never do enough no matter if it was for family, friends or a complete stranger. Thoughtful kind, compassionate and giving are just a few of the words that come to mind when describing her. She worked hard all her life, she was very independent and had numerous jobs from a very young age, at the following places: The Gateway, Sunrise Restaurant, The Wandlyn Inn, The Steak Coral, Star-Kist Canada Inc. pretty much open to close her most recent was the CCH from where she retired. She was a long standing member of The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary No matter where she went or what she did, she knew someone or someone knew her. There was always a connection.

There is not enough we can say or do to give a special thank you to St. Mary's of The Lake Hospital and staff for providing such amazing and wonderful care and helping to prepare Virginia and her family members for the journey she was about to take to be at rest and peace.

Also a heartfelt thank you to everyone who was there for her in her time of sickness and need, and the many visits of family, friends at a distance who made the time to let her know how loved and important a lady she was and for all the cards and letters phone calls thoughts and prayers.

Thank you to Dr. Burnell, Dr. Campbell and staff as well as Kim in the Oncology department at CCH for great care she provided.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Union Street, St Stephen, NB on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Paul Doucet Officiating.

Visiting hours will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, NB on Sunday, Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

The Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliary Branch #9 will conduct a service Sunday evening at 6:45 PM Interment will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Rollingdam, NB.

For those who wish, remembrances to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
