Ina Marion Russell
It is with great sadness that her family wishes to announce the passing of Ina Marion Russell, formerly of Oak Hill, NB, at the River View Manor in Bath NB on Easter Sunday morning - April 5th, 2015.
She was born in Norton NB on March 18, 1925, the daughter of the late Talmadge and Lily (Tate) Vail and is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Melvin Russell; children Sheila (Douglas) Lloyd and Brian (Gail) Russell; grandchildren Jenifer (Ken) Allen, Jason (Neely) Lloyd, Justin (Lori) Russell, Siobhan (Brennan) Russell, Scott (Joanna) Morse, and Jessica ( Joshua )Reichenbach ; 12 great grandchildren;: Megan , Erin, and Camryn Acheson, Rowan Lloyd, Whitney & Austin Russell, Xander, Peyton, Mattea, & Kiptin Reichenbach, and Georgia & Zoey Morse; siblings: Viola Maxey, Fern Armstrong, Gerna MacCullum, Talmadge Vail, and many nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, siblings: Murray Vail, Gertrude ONeill , and May Muir, as well as her granddaughter Amy Lloyd.
Ina was a proud retired Registered Nurse. She had pursued her training in Montreal Quebec and at the Chipman Memorial Hospital in St. Stephen, NB and enjoyed a wonderful career as a Obstretrics and Nursery RN. at the Charlotte County Hospital - She loved working with the babies and was very proud to have welcomed so many into the world during her career. She also served in her community helping many neighbours who were ill over the years. She was a lifetime member of the Oak Hill United Church and the Maple Leaf Pythian Sisters. Ina loved crocheting and loved to make baby sets for friends, neighbours, and family, as well as quilts. She loved her family and her community and will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd.,23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2 PM.
Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Oak Hill, NB. Donations in her memory may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Oak Hill United Church and Cemetery Fund, or charity of choice.
The family would like to thank the Staff of River View Manor for the wonderful care that Ina received during her stay there and also for all those who have been so kind and supportive through this difficult time with calls, messages, visits and prayers. They are very much appreciated.
