Myrtle Elizabeth Moffitt
MOFFITT- It is with great sadness that the family of Myrtle Elizabeth (Flanagan) Moffitt announces her death after a period of declining health on February 19, 2015 in McAdam, NB. She was 93 years old.
Myrtle was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Paul Thomas Moffitt.
Myrtle is lovingly remembered by her children, Diane CAMPONE of Saint John, NB and Sharon HUDSON of Quispamsis, NB. and Paul (Pertice Tracy) MOFFITT of Yellowknife, NWT. She will also be missed by her five grandchildren, David (Yisset) Campone, Shiralee (Matthew) Hudson Hill, Sean (Stephanie) Hudson, Jordon Moffitt and Morgan Moffitt, five great grandchildren, Chelsea, Elizabeth, Cressida, Connor and Ruari. Myrtle was born in Bass River Point, NB to Gordon and Hannah (Walker) Flanagan. She was blessed to belong to a family of 13 brothers and sisters, all who remained very dear to her throughout her life. Myrtle was quietly adventuresome and enlisted in the Canadian Army Women's Corps (CWAC) during the Second World War. Myrtle served overseas and she remained proud of the fact that she, like so many others, seized upon the opportunity to actively contribute to the war effort in support of her country.
She enjoyed the company of many friends and she deeply loved and enjoyed life and being a mother, and while doing so, lived a quiet and dignified life.
A celebration of her life will be held at St George's Anglican Church,56 Rockland Drive, McAdam, NB on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 2 PM.
