Wesley Timothy Kelley
Wesley Timothy Kelley, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Jubilee Lodge Nursing Home in Edmonton, Alberta, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease and dementia.
Born on March 23, 1939 in Saint John, New Brunswick, he was the eldest son of the late Levi Wesley Kelley and the late Mildred Young Pike of that city.
Predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Joan Marilyn Kelley of Edmonton, on June 28, 2010, he will be sadly missed by his three sons, Eric (Marilyn) Kelley of Chilliwack, B.C., Michael Kelley of Edmonton, and David (Tracey) Kelley of Sidney, B.C., his grandchildren Erica, Megan, Fiona and Russell, as well as by his siblings Peter (Marie) Kelley, of Saint John, N.B., Susan Kelley of St. Andrews, N.B., Katherine (Hartley) Bastarache of Rothesay, N.B., Rosalyn (Allan) Hewitson of Kitimat, B.C., and Christina (Michael) Darrah of Fredericton, N.B. His younger brother, Colin Kelley, passed away in Calgary, in 1995.
A well-known Canadian public relations professional, he was educated in Saint John and had an extensive career with Canadian National Railway, retiring in January 1999 as vice-president of public affairs in Montreal. He returned to live in Edmonton, where he had spent many years as manager, public affairs, for Western Canada.
Cremation took place at the time of passing and a memorial service will be held at The S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, NB on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11 AM.
Following the service there will be a reception at the same location. Afterwards there will be a Committal at Moores Mills Cemetery alongside the resting place of his wife, Joan Kelley.
