Arnold Robert Merrill
Arnold Robert Merrill of St. Stephen, NB, passed away unexpectedly, on April 29, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB.
Born on March 10, 1934, son of the late Harold and Marjorie (nee Davidson) Merrill. Arnold served 25 years in the RCAF, posted to PEI, Germany and Cold Lake, AB.
Survived by his wife, Melva Merrill (nee Dickerson); two sons, Robert of Edmonton and Neil of Calgary; one daughter, Wendy of Edmonton; sisters, Gladys Gaudett of Blacks Harbour, Erma (Had) Tapley of St. Stephen and Marian Dancy of Toronto. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, William and Galen; his aunt and uncle, Will and Pearl Finkill, and special cousin, Helen (Frank) Blackall.
After retiring from the military, Arnold spent his time building homes and working in his woodworking shop. He also enjoyed attending auctions and spending time with family and friends.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home, St. Stephen, NB. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m., in the chapel.
There will be no visitation by request.
Interment at Oak Bay Cemetery, Oak Bay, NB.
